Souki Mehdaoui is a filmmaker based in New York. After a colorful upbringing across Morocco and the U.S., she studied visual journalism, psychology, and sustainability at UNC Chapel Hill and the Evergreen State College. Through documentary and socially-engaged film projects, she has collaborated with artists from around the world and partnered with organizations like Mason Jar Music, Matter Unlimited, Nomadique, and Refinery29. From national campaigns to experimental art pieces, Souki explores film as an entry-point into empathy, wisdom, and ecological storytelling. She laughs often and cares deeply.
